We advocated for gender equality in public policies

Did you know that people who menstruate spend up to $720 pesos a year on menstrual products like pads or tampons? In Mexico, $720 represents 10% of the total expenses of a poor household. As part of the #MenstruaciónDignaMéxico (#DignifiedMenstruationMexico) initiative, we support actions to ensure that period products are free, eliminate the value added tax (VAT) on these products, and generate data and evidence that supports the effective public policies. Thanks to this initiative, the Chamber of Deputies approved the Dignified Menstruation Law, which provides free access to period products in public schools across the country.
